I don’t remember that much, but here it goes: the book has something to do with jupiter and its part of a series. The premise of the book is that humanity has been wiped out (i think in a previous book), except for a small remnant that stayed alive cause humans transimtted out their genetic code and these aliens used the genome to create humans and raised them. eventually humans want to leave their benevolent alien hosts and return to the Sol System in order to find out what happend to the rest of humanity.
